Making a great first impression is a skill worthy of development. The only way you will ever get to the point of making a sale, selling your services, or supporting your cause is by making that initial connection.
Our world used to revolve around one to one interactions, but with our progression through print and internet, including video and audio presentations, we have built a world of global communication at the click of a button. One of the easiest ways to harness the power of the Internet is through article writing.
Your life experience can be your goldmine of ideas and expertise that can help others. Even if you have done nothing with your life to this point you can write about it, sharing with others the impact your choices have made in your life. No matter what you write about keep it focused and simple, and stick to one point.
Choose one concept to share in your article. If you are plumber you might write about DIY plumbing and jurisdictional code, or the difference between copper and pvc pipes. Taking this micro approach gives you room to make your article concise, simple, and understandable.
Use care in writing your title, and always keep your title in alignment with your article content. If you write the title first, and find yourself headed in a different direction then use that original title as a topic for another article project, and rewrite so that you keep the readers attention and trust.
Your article is a form of teaching. With this thought in mind, try to keep your article as simple as possible. If you give too much you risk losing the attention of your reader. If you give them an answer that they can understand you empower your reader and secure your place as a good authority.
It doesn’t matter if you have a PhD or a high school education – we all have something to share. You can make a positive first impression and show others that you are worth listening to through the articles you write.
